Approximately 3 hours from Sedona and 2 hours from Flagstaff, the mighty Colorado River runs for nearly 1,500 miles from beginning to end, with 277 miles flowing through the entire length of the Grand Canyon. While only the Mississippi and Columbia Rivers have larger water volume rates than the Colorado River in North America, the Colorado passes through some of the most incredible landscapes and is home to some of the more facinating wildlife.

Millions of years of carving through soft sandstone and limestone, the Colorado River has been key in the creation of many of the awesome canyons of the Southwest, including the Grand Canyon.
